For my animation era i chose Disneys era of film making.
I think being that Snow White was one of the first feature length films Disney studios worked on, this is a beautifu clip. Of course now with computer anumations around not much hand drawing goes on anymore, so is this now something that will become a legend? will hand drawing animators decrease drastically through the next decade ?
Hand drawn animation has a feel to it that can not be accomplished with computerized anomation, also tones used, and the way the characters move, i think hand drawn animations such as snow white and cinderella where something animators worked and cared deeply about, i dont think many hand drawn animations nowdays have this feel of hard work and dedicated time go in to their work. For example, the way the dwarfs every expression are eggsaturated, and the way their skin in drawn, it stretches the imagination of what humans really look like, it gives you a warm feeling as well as humuor characteritics. You can see the hard work and time spent on making and animating these characters, it is not something of a short process. After the creation of Mickey Mouse, and after years of hard work and a new found art style of animation thta would be followed by many animators in years to come, Disney Studios became the ground breaker of animtion. Although, may people believe the world of animation revolves around Disney, i disagree with this greatly, for me Disney is an art form, not an Animatirs bible.
Now going in to the background of this era for a minute. Disney sxtarted creating feature length films to save his studios, critics where against this, they claimed that this would be something viewers would get bored of quickly and the colours where too bright for the audience, only to be proven wrong, Snow white become a worldwide box office success, and was universally acclaimed as a landmark in the development of animation as a serious art form.
